Brandon Weeden was the 22nd overall pick of the 2012 draft, taken by Cleveland. He was looked at as an answer at quarterback, but he’s now sitting as a backup in Dallas.
Although a 22nd overall selection and his stats (23 TD, 26 INT) don’t entirely read “bust”, the interceptions were always costly and a lot of the touchdowns were garbage time. 23 touchdowns over two seasons is low, and his 5-15 record as a starter with the Browns is indicative of that.
Weeden now warms the bench in Dallas, and has started only one game: a loss to Arizona. Weeden is considered to be the worst quarterback of the 2012 class, but can he now safely be considered a draft bust?
